Our school is full of wonderful events that are happening from pre-k to 8th grade. On February 13th the school had mass to celebrate Ash Wednesday. A group at our school called KUNA is doing a big project for a competition. They are researching South Africa and Cambodia.
KUNA is making a booth on South Africa and partially on Cambodia. They are making a trivia wheel and homemade costumes for the project as well. KUNA participants have made masks that will go on the outsides of their booth. Our school has many events these are just some.
There are many events going on around the school. Lately we have had many events going on, mainly Catholic Schools Week. STLP has been doing many projects also. In Catholic Schools Week we had a band, a lady from the Explorium came to our school, student appreciation day, the Wolfe Bros, and Bingo.
STLP is doing a project for hurricane Sandy victims by collecting money and clothes. The clothes go to the National Coast Guard to bring them to the victims. Students from STLP are also taking requests from teachers and turning them into a video. Every other week there is a competition between the teachers to see who made the best project using the skill a teacher requested.
During Catholic Schools Week we had a woman from the Explorium come and give us a demo about electricity. Then the Wolfe Bros came and played us songs from the 80's. The next day the Lexington Catholic School percussion section of their band played music using buckets, tin and rubber trash cans, and regular instruments. One day was teacher appreciation day. The last day of Catholic Schools Week we had student appreciation day and we got ice cream and got to play bingo.
